SDG Action Award for Environmental sustainability

SDGAwards

SDGAwards

The concept of environmental sustainability requires that natural capital be sustainably used as a source of economic inputs and as a sink for waste. The implication is that natural resources must be harvested no faster than they can be regenerated while waste must be emitted no faster than they can be assimilated by the environment. However, the quest for unbridled growth is imposing ever greater demands on the earth system and placing ever greater strain on these limits because technological advancement may fail to support exponential growth. The biggest threat facing us today is climate change, and pushing us to think and act towards the need for environmental sustainability.
